The "ID card" of the container! Do you know them?
Containers are the key carrier of cross-border logistics. The useful treatment is very important. In order to facilitate the identification, processing and explanation of containers in international transportation, it is convenient for document preparation and information transmission. The International Organization for Standardization has issued the code of the container. Identification and Symbols (ISO6346-1995), which clearly rules the contents of containers, the standard of symbol fonts, the orientation of symbols, and so on. According to this standard, container symbols can be divided into two types: mandatory symbols and optional symbols. Since the "must-have symbol" is the content of the container's demand symbol, the following focuses on the science.
The "ID card" of the container! Do you know them?
The symbols of the International Organization for Standardization have two types: mandatory symbols and self-selected symbols. Each type of symbol distinguishes between recognized symbols and work symbols. Specifically, there is a box master code on the container; box number or sequence number, check number; container standard and type code.
A must-have symbol
1. Identify the symbol. It consists of the box master code, device identification code, sequence number and check digits.
(1) Owner Code. It is the three capitalized Latin letters marked by the container owner to the International Container Bureau. For example, one of the main codes of the Maersk Group's own box is “MSK”.
(2) Equipment identification code. It is the fourth letter of the main code of the box, which is used to indicate the type of container. The most common is "U", which is used to indicate all conventional containers. The other "J" are marked with a detachable container, and the "Z" indicates the trailer and chassis of the container.
(3) The sequence number, also known as the "box number" or "Registration Code", consists of 6 Arabic letters. If the useful number is not 6 digits, then use the “0” to make up 6 digits to distinguish the container from the same owner, such as “053842”.
(4) Check the numbers. Also known as "Check Digit", the check digit is used to verify the accuracy of the box master code and sequence number records, processed by computer. It is located after the sequence number and is indicated by an Arabic numeral plus a box.
2. Job symbol. It includes the following three things:
(1) Rated weight and custom weight symbol. The rated weight is the total weight of the container. The weight of the container, ie the empty container mass (or empty box weight), shall be indicated in kilograms (kg) and pounds (lb);
(2) Empty land and water intermodal container symbol. Since the strength of the container can only be stacked two layers. Therefore, the International Organization for Standardization has a special mark on the container. The symbol is black, located at the upper left corner of the side wall and the end wall, and the minimum standard of the rule symbol is: 127mm high, 355mm long, and the font height of the letter symbol is at least 76mm. ;
(3) The electric shock warning symbol on the top of the box. The symbol is a yellow triangle with various colors, usually located in the tank container and on the escalator at the top of the box to warn the climber of the risk of electric shock.
2. Optional symbols
1. Identify the symbol. it includes:
(1) National and regional codes, such as CN for China and US for the United States;
(2) Standard and type code (box code).
2. Job symbol. it includes:
(1) Super high symbol, which is marked with a black number and a border on the yellow bottom. This symbol is attached to the lower left corner of each side of the container, about 0.6m from the bottom of the box, and is attached below the primary symbol of the container. Containers with a height exceeding 2.6m shall be affixed with this symbol;
(2) International Railway Union symbol. This symbol is available for containers that comply with the rules of the International Railroad Union. This mark is a necessary sign for the transport of containers on European railways. The upper "ic" indicates the International Railroad Union, and the lower figures indicate the codes of the various railway companies. For containers that are overweight (total weight over 30.48t), the triangular overweight symbol of “SUPER HEAVY” should be set.
Passage symbol
The container can pass through or enter the transit process smoothly. It is necessary to have various traffic signs on the box according to the rules. Otherwise, it is necessary to handle the cumbersome certification procedures and extend the container turnover time.
The primary signs on the container are: safety qualified license plates, container approval license plates, insect control panels, inspection qualification emblems and international railway alliance symbols.
